How to get there

The township of Port Fairy is located approx 290 kilometres west of Melbourne. It's a good 3 hour drive through some of Victoria's best cattle country takes you through Geelong, Colac, Camperdown, Terang and Warnambool. You could take the very scenic alternative along the Great Ocean Road, adding hours and/or days to your trip. From Melbourne, get on to the Princes Highway (there are no tolls), and just keep heading west.
